EAGLES
...majestic
symbols of strength and respect
In Isaiah 40:31, the prophet uses the
illustration of the eagle to give insight into the life
of every Christian. This simple "blueprint"
for living is the one we at Fort Myers Christian School
have chosen to live by in our daily task of education
young people for a lifetime of service to Him.
"They that WAIT..."
waiting is difficult - it means
stopping what you're doing and depending on someone else
for instruction or action. We've worked hard this year
to stop and listen to what the Lord would say to us and
then to do it.
"...upon the Lord will RENEW their
strength..."
renewing occurs after the decline
from a previous peak situation. FMCS has seen its share
of ups and downs, but we have sought the Lord for a
revitalization - not only of our strength, but of our
joy and vision!
"..they shall MOUNT up with wings as
eagles..."
mounting means "on the
rise" - heading up from a low point. It's a slow
and energy demanding process, but we have committed
ourselves to see a new and stronger FMCS in the days
ahead.
"...they shall RUN and not be weary..."
there isn't a day that does by that
we aren't "running" to get something done, but
even in the busyness of the daily routine, each of us
knows who our source is and why we are a part of this
school.
"...they shall WALK and not faint."
...sometimes the biggest challenge in
our Christian walk is the "daily grind" that
each of us faces, for it is in those moments that who we
are and what we're made of really shows. We want to look
and act like Jesus would - that's what we want others to
see and remember.
