The first eighth grade class to go on
a missions trip to Juarez, Mexico, was the graduating
class of 1991. The trip was thought of as a replacement
for the "senior trip" that the eighth grade
students had gone on in years before, and a way to give
students a more godly vision of the world. The annual
Mexico trip has continued every year since then, and has
become an integral part of the eight grade year. The
missions trip is woven into their class subjects,
especially Bible and Spanish classes. Students learn
simple Bible verses in Spanish, and also learn how to do
human videos, dramas, skits, and clowning routines, all
to reach the people of Juarez.
