Our Thirteenth Year 1991-1992

In fall 1991 Mrs. Lee Allred joined the faculty. She would later marry our principal, Mr. Mel Mitchell and become Mrs. Lee Mitchell. Mrs. Mitchell has two children. Her son, David, is a graduate of FMCS, and her daughter, Robin, is a current student. Mrs. Mitchell has taught many different subjects and grades over the years, but she currently teaches Bible, geography and history.

Music had been absent since the 1987-1988 school year, when it was revived by music teacher Mrs. Melinda Gregor. Mrs. Gregor taught vocal music to the kindergarten through fifth grades, began the Elementary Ensemble (a select group of singing ambassadors for the school) and Middle school ensemble. She also started a band of all brass instruments and percussion. Students were encouraged to learn to worship God with their voices any time they sang, and to honor God by having stage presences while performing.

The Honorable John Ashcroft Governor of Missouri spoke to our students during the day and to FMCS parents, faculty and staff at Harborside Convention Center. Here he is being interviewed by WSOR Christian Radio station manager, Bill Simon. Calling him "a man of great integrity, a man of great judgment and a man who knows the law," President George W. Bush announced his decision to nominate John Ashcroft to serve as Attorney General of the United States on December 22, 2000
