Some FMCS students pictured in front of
the Mid-Point bridge when it was still under
construction. The bridge had been anticipated for years,
and it was often speculated that road expansion would
mean the demolition of the oldest FMCS building, and a
new school building. But that was not to be.
|
 |
The school went
through some trials as Colonial Boulevard is expanded
from four lanes to six lanes to accommodate the expected
additional traffic that will come after the Mid-Point
bridge is completed. This included loud construction
noise while the teachers were trying to teach, water
being shut off while new lines were being laid, and
occasional confusion at parent pick up and drop off. |
|

|
The front lawn of
the school is reduced to practically nothing after the
road expansion is done. The money from the purchase of
that land was used to build future classrooms on the
west side of the gym. Those classrooms were built, but
have been pastor's offices and maintenance area ever
since completion. |
